FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How should payments be made?
Deposits will be required by the following payment schedule: 60 Days prior to the event date, 50% of the balance is due. 30 Days prior to the event date, 75% of the balance is due. Remaining balance is due 7 days prior to the event date, with final floor plan and guest count guarantee. Any “day of” charges will be due at the conclusion of the event.
When should my event details be finalized?
We appreciate the final balance due, signed Banquet Event Order, and floor plan 14 days prior to your event.
When would you like my final count?
A guest guarantee is required 14 days prior to your event. The guaranteed number is not subject to reduction.
Can we bring in outside catering?
All catering is provided by the Monarch Club’s Culinary Team. We are required to follow the California of Health Department’s regulations, which state: “no food of any kind, except specialty desserts or wedding cake, may be brought on or leave the facility or be taken at the conclusion of the event. No outside food items may be prepared, served or stored in or on premise refrigeration.”
Can we bring in our own alcohol?
Due to our San Luis Obispo County Liquor License, the Monarch Club cannot allow you to provide your own alcohol. However, we do offer beer, wine and liquor packages, with a full variety of options.
Can I bring my own vendors?
Yes, absolutely! If you need help choosing, we have a preferred list of recommended professionals that are familiar with the property.
I don't need 9 hours; why can't I rent fewer hours than that?
In our vast experience in the event industry, we have found that it is stressful for both the event host and the vendors to try to complete everything in a smaller block than 6 hours. This doesn’t allow much time for the setup of personal items, and it adds undue stress. Because of this, we have competitively priced our time blocks so that you have a comfortable amount of time while still staying within your budget.
What kind of cleanup am I responsible for?
You are responsible for personal items brought into the venue, and for anything outside vendors have brought into the space.
What is included with each reservation?
When you book your event at Monarch Club, we include all of your event essentials for no extra charge. Depending on the event space, we include: tables, chairs, standard linens, glass and silverware, Wi-Fi, podium, setup and takedown. The Club does have easels that can be reserved in advance.
Is there internet or Wi-Fi provided on-site?
We provide basic Wi-Fi – no password is required.
